Tricia

Tricia loves colour... she is often to be found dyeing fabric or thread or painting a canvas with a vibrant palette of colour... but one colour in particular fascinates Tricia and that's the colour blue... indigo has been used for centuries to dye fabric...  Tricia is never happier than when she is playing around with her dyes and paints... some rather smelly experiments have been happening this summer with sea slugs... they give a wonderful purple dye... the sails on Cleopatra's boat were said to be purple...

The family also have an allotment where a few strawberries... some rhubarb... or the odd onion or two can be found however, there are other more unusual plants to be found growing.... woad... madder... St John's Wort to name but a few... Tricia has a 'dye' garden...

Tricia and her husband Sean run 'realstaithes.com'... if you like the outdoors & walking then this is for you... discovery walks along the foreshore from Staithes to Port Mulgrave... including lobster for lunch...  Tricia is the one behind the scene for this adventure... while Sean and the boys may catch the lobsters it's Tricia that cooks them and the rest of the picnic too...so while Sean is out at sea or on the foreshore... Tricia is to be found in front of the computer updating websites or 'trying' to keep up with the paper work... as well as baking cakes or making soup...
